No cookie is set by this website, and none is set by the analytics described below — it uses your browser's local storage instead. There are no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, no tag manager and no third-party marketing scripts.

Because these are not cookies, this page describes them as what they are: values kept in your browser's own storage. Calling them cookies would be simpler and less accurate.

Analytics, only if you allow it

LogisticID uses WebmasterID to measure how this website is used. It is switched off until you allow it: on your first visit the site shows a notice with an equal choice, and the analytics script is not loaded, not requested and not present in the page until you choose to allow it. Declining leaves the site exactly as it already was.

If you allow it, WebmasterID stores an identifier in your browser that recognises you when you return, and records the pages you open. There is no advertising, no profiling for advertisers and no sharing with advertising networks.

• A visitor identifier — a random 32-character value in local storage, under the name wmid:av:v1. It persists between visits, which is what makes a returning visit recognisable, and is the reason your permission is asked for.
• A session identifier in session storage, under the names wmid:as:v1 and wmid:as:last:v1. It expires after 30 minutes without activity, and when you close the tab.

What is sent, and to whom

When analytics is allowed, each page view sends the following to WebmasterID at webmasterid-ingest-api.vercel.app: the address and title of the page, the address you arrived from, your browser's language setting, its user-agent string, your window width, the two identifiers above, and the time. As with any request to any server, the receiving server also sees your IP address.

A few specific actions are also recorded: following a quote, carrier or contact button, opening a quote or carrier form, choosing a freight type, handing a completed enquiry to your email client, moving between the carrier compliance guides, and following a link from the compliance directory to a national authority. The tracker also records, on its own, when a link to another website is followed and when a file is downloaded. Each of those sends the name of the action, the service, shipment type or guide it related to, and the page it started from — alongside the same identifiers and page address as above. Nothing you type is included. The form itself is never read: what you enter in a quote or carrier form is composed into an email in your own browser and goes only to the address you send it to.

When you follow a link from the carrier compliance directory to a national authority, the two-letter country code of that authority is recorded — Germany's entry sends DE. That is the country of the link you clicked, not yours. Nothing on this website works out or records where you are; as with any request to any server, the receiving server sees your IP address, which is described above and is a different thing.

Nothing you type is included. Submitting the freight quote or carrier introduction form records only that a form of that name was submitted — never the contents of any field, so route, cargo, company and contact details are not part of it.

If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, the analytics stays silent even if it has been allowed.

The choice itself

Your answer is stored in local storage under the name logisticid:privacy-notice. It holds a version number and your yes or no — no identifier, no timestamp and no personal information — and it is never sent anywhere. It exists so the site can honour your choice without asking again on every page.

Local storage rather than a cookie is deliberate. A cookie is transmitted with every request a browser makes to a site, and nothing on this website's server has any use for this value — so sending it would be pointless, and not sending it is the more private option.

Progress through the freight quote and carrier introduction forms is held in the active page only, and is discarded when you leave or reload the page.

Changing your mind

"Privacy preferences" at the foot of every page brings the choice back, whichever way you answered. Choosing to decline after allowing also deletes the WebmasterID identifiers from your browser and reloads the page, so the tracking stops rather than merely being switched off for next time.

Clearing site data through your browser's own settings has the same effect on everything described here.

If what this page describes materially changes — a new purpose, a new recipient, anything else stored — your recorded answer no longer matches it and you are asked again. An answer given today is never carried over to a different question.

Links to other websites

The HELPERG Ecosystem menu at the top of every page lists other websites and mobile applications that share that name, and links to them and to their App Store and Google Play listings. Those are ordinary links: nothing is loaded from those sites while you are here, and none of their scripts runs on this one.

The links are also marked so that no referring address is sent. A site opened from that menu receives an ordinary visit, with no indication that it came from LogisticID.
